3 Kids 2 Dogs and 1 Old House is a highly entertaining version of the gorgeous Alfino family’s every day life and adventures.
Hello there! I’m Cindy Alfino, although no one calls me that anymore. Now, I’m just Mom.
Who am I? Well, I am a series addict who secretly wishes Dexter was a real person living in SA right now. And one thing I know to be true is that there’s nothing better than a steak that melts in your mouth except Nik Naks.
3 Kids 2 Dogs and 1 Old House started way back in 2009 when I became a Mom and spent a large part of my days on the couch wondering what the heck I was supposed to do with this much wanted bundle in my arms. Now, a few years and a couple more kids later, it’s the place I go to share the memories we’re making every day.
Our story is a bit of a unique one, I met my husband when I was just 16 and we decided to get married when I was 20. Funnily enough being in a mixed race relationship didn’t bother our parents, but our age did, but despite that, they gave us their blessing and we got hitched. A couple of years later we had Kyla (now 6) and we were set. Except a couple of months later I was clinging to the toilet again with morning sickness like no other. A year and two weeks later we welcomed our Riya-Ray (now 5) into the World. Those first couple of years really were rough – sometimes I didn’t know my own name, but soon the fog cleared and we decided to do it all again and had our son, Knox (now 3) a couple of years later – on my own birthday in fact.
Now we spend our days trying to survive to the next one. No, I’m kidding, it’s not that bad. Except when it is.
On 3 Kids 2 Dogs and 1 Old House you will find a summary of all of our adventures, misadventures and everything in between. I share a lot of our real life struggles, like what it’s really like to have 3 kids or how my kids just don’t freaking listen although I try and keep it all very light hearted. You also spot lots of posts about the other things we enjoy, like Cape Town, travelling as a family, fun things to do, great party themes and interviews with others on what it’s like being in a mixed race relationship.
That’s it from me, I hope to see you hanging around my blog or social channels soon.
